The Declaration of the Center

Criminal defense has been an art, with the purpose of protecting the fundamental rights of the accused and the defendants. In the criminal proceedings, the accused and the defendants, no matter what crimes they have committed and how serious their crimes are, they are imposed in a disadvantaged position. Therefore, they are endowed with some unalienable rights, including the rights to counsel. In all criminal prosecutions, the right to the assistance of counsel for his defense is based on the principle that no man may be accused, arrested, or detained in the cases determined by law, and according to the forms prescribed thereby. Whoever solicits, expedites, or executes arbitrary orders, or has them executed, must be punished; but every citizens summoned or apprehended in pursuance of the law must obey immediately; he renders himself culpable by resistance. As criminal lawyers, we will make great efforts to help the accused out of unjust prosecution and guarantee that the accused obtained fair treatment in the investigation process and at trial to the greatest extent and with the most extensive scope prescribed by the Constitution and laws. The work of lawyers serves as the foundation of the criminal justice and our lawyers promise to contribute to the achievement of justice and the rule of law in China. We are sure that all the men, guilt or innocent, shall seem most likely to effect the liberty and justice.
